Participating Partners The Coalition for Common Sense in Education is a local grassroots coalition of parents, teachers, superintendents, principles, higher education faculty/researchers, school board members and concerned citizens, from the Rochester/Buffalo NY area, aligned with other groups around NY State and the country, to raise questions, encourage critical debate and strategic action in response to the burgeoning use of high-stakes standardized tests in our schools. They support the provision of an excellent education for every child in New York State, aimed at full development of his or her talents and skills. This requires adequate fiscal resources and an enlightened educational program that recognizes that all children can learn at a high level.
