Q14: Are We Opposed to ALL Tests?

NO!
We are not opposed to all tests. Students in schools using performance assessments do take tests.

They take many tests:

• in-class exams
• SAT I tests
• Advanced Placement exams
• college placement tests
• tests set by college faculty when they take college courses while still in high school

We do oppose relying on any single test for critical decisions such as graduation. Therefore, we oppose high-stakes tests.
